The True Shepherd (Part 1)

Hi guys, how has been your day? Hope it has been great. I want us to discuss something in God's word. The bible says we should desire the sincere milk of the word that we may grow thereby. Let's enjoy the word so that we can grow.

I want us to discuss John 10 which deals with the sheep and the shepherd. We all know that a sheep is an animal and a shepherd is a person who watches, take care and feeds to sheep.

From verse 1 to 5, Jesus spoke in parables to the Jews that anyone that enters the sheepfold without passing through the door, but climbed up some other way is a their and a robber which is true. The owner of the sheep cannot enter the sheepfold by climbing. He has the key yo the door and can enter easily through the door.

In other words, he that enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him, a portal opens and the sheep hears his voice and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. A stranger, they will not follow because they do not know the voice of strangers.

The interpretation started in verse 7 where Jesus is seen as the door to the sheepfold and all that ever came before him are thieves and robbers. Verse 10 makes us to know that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but most of us seem to follow the their. Why not Jesus? He is the door and if any man enter Him, he will be saved.

Jesus is the good shepherd and the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. He doesn't leave them in times of trouble. He doesn't allow them to be caught by a wild animal or even allow them to scatter.

Jesus is the only good shepherd. I will continue this in the second part because I don't want it to be too long for you to read, so please read the second part.
